Aims and scope

African Journal of Dairy Farming and Milk Production ISSN 2375-1258 is a peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes original research and review papers on dairy science and technology  submitted from all over the world.  AJDFMP is dedicated to disseminate original research on all aspects of dairy science including:

• management, economics and marketing of dairy farms and product manufacturing
• care and nutrition of dairy animals
• The influence of temperature on the chemical components of milk
• the gelation characteristics of concentrated milks
• the microbiology of UHT processes
• properties of fermented milk
• the microbiology of cheese
• consumer reactions to different varieties of cheese
• sanitation throughout the dairy industry
• processing of dairy-based products, including processing and foods manufacturing (milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream)
• dairy foods, physiology and management; nutrition, feeding, and calves; and genetics and breeding
• animal husbandry

Other areas of interest to the journal are the physiology, biochemistry and endocrinology of lactation, milk production, composition, preservation, processing and separation, biotechnology and food science, properties of milk proteins and other components, dairy products such as cheese, fermented milks etc.

The objective of this journal is to be the top-ranked journal of dairy science research in the world as well as to stimulate the discovery, application, and dissemination of knowledge; to create an atmosphere in which various segments of the dairy industries freely exchange knowledge and to recognize outstanding personal achievement.
