  Urbanization is a global phenomenon characterized by the rapid growth of cities and towns, leading to various socio-economic and environmental changes. In the context of Jos Metropolis, Plateau State, urbanization has significantly influenced housing development patterns. This paper explores the dynamics of urbanization in Jos Metropolis and its implications for housing development. Through a comprehensive review of literature and field surveys, the paper examines the factors driving urbanization in Jos, the challenges faced by the housing sector and potential strategies for sustainable housing development. The findings suggest that rapid urbanization in Jos Metropolis has led to increased demand for housing, resulting in informal settlements, inadequate infrastructure and socio-economic disparities.
